Tie Dye Skirt

I wanted to get in on the tie dye action but not rein-act the awful 90's style. I needed something that would be classic and last after the fad had dyed (you get it?) out! So when I saw this beauty I thought it was the one! I've got quite a few skirts this shape as I wear them high waisted to make then look 50's style and flatter my small height. The tie dye detail is minimal with the white fading into pink in a dip dye effect - it's the way forward if you want your garment to last after this season. This one was only £18 from Topshop.

The Thursday Review: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Fragrance

For my 21st my mum bought me Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb perfume. I'd smelt it at duty free on the way to Paris in March and have been lusting after it ever since. It's a sweet, floral fragrance that isn't too sickly or overpowering. It's definitely a sultry summer smell!

Simple Star Scones

I decided to have a domestic day yesterday; a bit of baking, tidying and running errands. I decided to make some scones as my friends and I are obsessed with cream teas! I didn’t have any raisins so I made do with plain ones, hoping that a bit of jam would liven them up.

Ingredients:

225g Plain Flour
2tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
30g Caster Sugar
55g Butter
55g Raisin (optional)
150ml Milk

Method:
1. Preheat your oven to 200c or 180c if fan assisted. Grease a baking tray.

2. Weigh your ingredients and mix the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar in a large bowl.

3. Add your butter, mixing with your fingers so the ingredients become like bread crumbs.

4. Add the raisins if necessary.

5. Slowly pour the milk in, a little at a time. Need into a firm dough.

6. Roll out and cut into the desired shape. Most people choose the traditional circular scones but I thought I’d rebel and try stars!

7. Place on the baking tray. Brush the tops with milk (I forgot to do this but I think it gives a glossy, glazed effect and makes the scone tops a golden brown).

8. Bake for around 10 minutes.
They came out really fluffy and delicious! I was pretty pleased for my first attempt! Unfortunately, as my cookie cutter was quite large I only made 6 so next time I'll use a smaller star and probably try adding raisins. I would recommend storing them in a sealed container over night as they had gone slightly hard on the outside this morning, but they were still bouncy in the middle! Yum!

Harry Potter Studio Tour

I've loved HP since I first read the Philosophers Stone aged about 9 or 10. I always expected an owl to drop off a letter inviting me to go Hogwarts aged eleven but sadly, I'm a muggle folks!
So when I heard about the Studio Tour from a friend I couldn't wait to go, and what better an occasion than my 21st Birthday! My eleven year old self was squealing in excitement and the 21 year old me wasn't much different!
I went to the HP world at Orlando Universal Studios last summer (by the way don't try their Butterbeer it's foul!) so I was slightly worried that it would be very similar however it wasn't in the slightest!
There are lots of props from all the films including moving animatronics and costumes. They also had the sets of Privet Drive and the Potter's cottage which you could have your photo taken in front of! I wont spoil it too much Potter fan but lets just say you can fly a broom and leave with Harry's wand! An amazing day out and an amazing birthday! Here's some sneaky photos!

Foxy Lady

It was my 21st Birthday on Wednesday (Happy Birthday to meeee!) I had the best day - I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour during the day and then went for drinks with a load of mates in the evening! I was spoilt rotten and heres a pic of one of my fav pressie, a gold and silver sparkly fox ring! I love his almond shaped emerald eyes! Thanks Sarah! X

Hello Legs!

I just saw this picture of Lydia Bright from The Only Way Is Essex on her twitter page! How long are her legs?! It's insane!! Amazing shoes too! That is all.

More Glitter Please

It's my 21st Birthday tomorrow so I treated myself to a Nubar manicure! Look how glittery my nails are! With normal glitter polish you can feel the glitter specks but with the special top coat the nails feel smooth and strong. It's not meant to chip for 2 weeks so I'm giving it a difficult test seeing as how I'm a waitress! Love the purple finish and now I'll sparkle even more on my birthday! Hoot Hoot

Burberry is one of my favourite luxury brands. It's stylish yet classic and inspired by British heritage, and as you all know I do love my vintage!
So while perusing their A/W 2012-13 show I came across their GORGEOUS owl t-shirts! Anything with owls on is a hit with me; I think it’s their huge eyes! I like how Burberry has teamed them with tailored pencil skirts and waist belts with oversized bows. It makes the look smart/casual and a little more accessible for us to re-create on high street budgets.

Review: Revlon Lip Butter

Everyone's been raving about the Revlon Lip Butters and the adverts are very enticing! So I thought I'd try a couple of shades.
I really wanted the Peach Parfait shade that the model Emma Stone wears in the magazine ad as it's an unusual soft coral shade that I love! However, when I tried it on it comes out as a dusky pink (see photo) which is a bit of a shame. However, the colour still looks really pretty and I love the glimmering effect. I'll let you know once I've tried on the next shade!
The best thing about these lipsticks are that they have the texture of a lip barn. I have such dry lips but after one day of wearing the Lip Butter they feel moisturised and look much healthier! It's just a shame the colour was so different to the ad!

Her Eyes Sparkle

Christian Dior Beauty Archive - Pat McGrath John Galliano
Sparkling eyes, full heavy lashes and deep berry lips - it must be the make-up from a Dior show. Pat McGrath has created the most gorgeous make-up looks for the house, from natural glows to show stopping eyes. So when I saw this image from Dior's A/W 2011/12 Couture runway I had to blog it.
The time and detailing that must have gone into creating each model's look. The crystals range from small black dots to large orange jewels. You can just imagine the light from the catwalk bouncing off them as she struts. And the deep berry colour on her lips look sumptious and inticing. It reminds me of the colour of the apple that Sleeping Beauty eats, as though the model will now enter a deep slumber until her prince comes to rescue her with a kiss.

#So Stylish

My granny slippers are just SO on trend right now! Elle featured this gorgeous collection of Penelope Chilvers and Christian Louboutin slippers. I especially love the tartan print slippers with the leather toe, sliver spikes and Jubilee themed crest! Gorgeous!
The shape of the slippers require showing some leg and look best with tight jeans or a high waisted mini skirt.
